2,500-10,000 Scovilles. Named in honor of Fresno, California this pepper is often confused with jalepenos, but instead Fresnos have thinner walls, often milder heat, and less time to maturity. Immature green Fresno peppers are more versatile with a mild heat, and can be added to many types of dishes. Green Fresnos can also be pickled and eaten whole. Mature, red Fresnos provide less flavor, but more heat. Plant produces good yields of 3" long by 1 ¼" wide hot peppers. Peppers are very hot and turn from green to red when mature. Plant has green stems, dark green leaves, and white flowers. Excellent for roasting, pickling, or for making salsa. Disease Resistant: Tobacco Mosia.
